A manual restore would be a nightmare. There's no other way to pull the info out? I know your business partner is a good developer but if you want to drop me a sample of the blog I'm happy to see if I can write something to maybe do the job. Of course a clean slate (with your best posts) is always a good thing :) I've deleted old rubbish in the past that I just don't want to bother having anymore.
