Mildly Irritating Things (3)Today on my jccommerce.com email address I have recieved 237 spam emails trying to get me to buy "enlargement" products. Yeah, I actually counted. And its only 3:00. With the internet as my witness, just as soon as I make eleventy-billion dollars on Secure Delivery my very first order of business will be to track down the makers of "MegaDik", pay soldiers of fortune to castrate them with a rusty spoon, and have their privates run through this guy's blender. Spamming bastards.

11.30.07New Lithium Batteries Almost Ripped My Arm Off

In the power tool / home improvement category, I've always been a fan of Ryobi One+ tools because all 10 or so tools I have from the line use the same batteries. Building A Service, Mildly Irritating Things (2)When you run a big online service (code-wise in this example) there are always a number of bugs. Most of these bugs are minor issues that don't affect the functionality of the service- for example, on the Secure Delivery forums I know there is a slight table misalignment in the forum navigation bar that makes it 10px too far to the left. Thanksgiving was Thursday, and in homage to the capitalism that is the hallmark of our great country the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday) is the busiest shopping day of the year here in the US with crazy-good sales on just about everything, everywhere. Secure Delivery has so many new sign ups over the past few months that our server is woefully overloaded and we are going to need to upgrade our servers to more robust hardware. Marketing an Online Service (2)Everybody knows I'm just crazy about how easy Secure Delivery is to use for people new to selling downloads online- I can't shut up about it.
